CYFN Family Birthing Program
The Council of Yukon First Nations (CYFN) Family Birthing Program is a culturally sensitive and holistic initiative designed to support expectant Indigenous families throughout their pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum journey. Led by experienced Indigenous midwives, doulas, and healthcare professionals, the program offers comprehensive prenatal care, childbirth education, and support services tailored to the unique needs and traditions of Yukon First Nations communities. Embracing Indigenous knowledge, cultural practices, and traditional healing methods, the CYFN Family Birthing Program strives to empower families to make informed choices and to ensure a safe, respectful, and nurturing birthing experience. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, the program promotes maternal and infant health, fosters family bonding, and celebrates the sacred journey of childbirth within Indigenous communities.
